Arts Digital Era

  • Welcome to the artsdigitalera blog from the Australia Council for the Arts.

Arts content for the digital era (or 'artsdigitalera' for short) is one of the Australia Council's strategic priority areas, where we will be exploring issues faced by artists and arts organisations in the digital era. We think a good place to start is with audiences, domains, incomes and support.

Through this blog and the @artsdigitalera Twitter account, we will be posting information about new pilot schemes (like the Geek in Residence and Digital Culture Fund) and sharing information and resources.

This is a place for discussion. There is no 'one size fits all' approach for digital culture. Some of us are at the very beginning of the journey, others have been on the bleeding edge for well over a decade. There is no right or wrong way to move forward, providing we are brave with our ambitions and open with our sharing. We don't promise to get it right first time, but we do promise to work with you in moving forward in the best way we can.

We welcome you to join us in conversation.

    Twitter+art=?

A recent article in the Sydney Morning Herald by Elissa Blake has set off a fascinating debate.
