Just had an urgent call for help from the Tura New Music guys over in Perth.
Tura New Music Ltd is a not for profit arts organisation based in Perth, Western Australia. Tura is a producer as well as resource centre and advocate for New Music. Founded in 1987 Tura has a proud history of achievement in initiating cultural development in Western Australia from inner city to remote communities.
After meeting the team on my visit over there and mentioning that I am always happy to send out calls for help, I received this email from them yesterday:
We need someone urgently to help us with website development. In the first instance to help us set up a CMS, even if it's Wordpress as an interim measure. But then to help set up audio and video streaming and archive connections. If it's the same person who could then create an integrated database system including archiving, documentation, mail lists, marketing lists etc etc...
Then that would be manna from heaven.
So, is that you? Does it sound like someone you know or have worked with before? Obviously I'm looking for sound (excuse the pun) solid people here. No sharks need apply.
If you're interested, or know someone who would be, please contact Tos Mahoney at Tura New Music directly on +61 08 9228 3711.
UPDATE: There's been some assumption that my use of the term "crowdsourcing" here means "free". It doesn't. It means "shouting loudly to a wider network of geeks than Tura have direct access to themselves". Since the job is scaleable there isn't a set fee until you have chatted the project through. Speak to them :)
...
Please note this is merely a distribution of a call for help, this is not a facilitated process through the Australia Council and is not part of any of the funding program we run. But that shouldn't stop you going out of your way to help a company in need of a geek!
